Information Technology.

Duffryn High School has a real commitment to ICT, and over the years has invested heavily in it.
In 2006, three dedicated ICT rooms were created with 29 computers in each, managed by department staff and each equipped with an interactive whiteboard. The school has a large Learning Resource Centre which houses the library and 70 computers for class and indidual learning, every child and staff member has access to a computer with industry standard software which includes Microsoft Office and Adobe Design Studio. Students and staff are able to log-on to their own work area on the school system via the internet using the Easylink website

ICT is taught to students across every year group, receiving one lesson every fortnight. Years 7 and 8 are working towards the new National Curriculum and Year 9 towards a qualification in Key Skill Level 1 - ICT. The ICT department has progressed towards a fresh approach of curriculum delivery by offering more vocational subjects which give both students and staff opportunities to develop skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes for sucessful performances in life.
